A little bit about Amanda

Amanda grew up on a hobby farm at Attunga on the outskirts of Tamworth in north west NSW. In 2015, she returned to the area with her two sons after spending thirteen years living at Cairns in Far North Queensland.

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Social Work and is a certified Sandplay and Symbol therapist. Amanda is an experienced drug and alcohol counsellor working across the Tamworth, Gunnedah, and Quirindi region.  Amanda also has experience working in preventative child protection and with children in out of home care.

Amanda’s counselling experience is with a diverse client base and across the lifespan from children to the elderly.  Amanda is passionate about working in the areas of trauma, complex trauma, and domestic violence prevention.

Amanda works holistically from a person-centred perspective; seeing the person as the expert in their own lives and assisting them to make the changes they want to make. Amanda is available to work with individuals, families, and groups.

When in Gunnedah, Amanda works from an office provided by The Gatepost Support Services Inc. in The Gatepost building at 108 Barber Street.
